Chalk and Cheese is a trading division of Traditional Project Management LLP, registration number OC407401. Our registered VAT number is 242544912.
Purchasing of products from the Chalk and Cheese website is governed by the following terms and conditions (T&C’s). Your Statutory Rights are not affected.
Please read carefully before you submit an order to us.
'We' means Chalk and Cheese.
'You' means our customer, or prospective customer.
'Us', 'our' and 'your' should be construed accordingly, and 'writing' or 'written' includes emails in these terms.
At Chalk and Cheese, we offer handmade, bespoke gifts and furniture as well as other products. Our bespoke items are handmade specifically following your requests, meaning it is totally unique. We pride ourselves on our friendly, fair service and will do our best to ensure that any problems which may arise are dealt with quickly, sensibly, and above all, fairly.
When you receive your goods from us, hopefully everything will be absolutely great, but we do realise that this is not always the case. Should a problem arise, please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org within 3 days of receipt, and we will do our best to sort things out as soon as possible. If an item is damaged, please send us a photo, clearly showing the damage, in order to speed up the process, during which we will offer to repair, replace or refund all or part of your purchase price, excluding postage and packaging costs.
Purchasing Our Handmade Furniture
We ask for a 50% deposit when the order is placed, and the balance will be due on the day the item is delivered. We will give you a realistic timescale for the creation and delivery of your item and will do our best to adhere to the arrangements. However, we will keep you updated as necessary. If you have a specific timeframe in mind, please let us know and we will do our best to accommodate your needs, but no compensation can be given.
Please note that natural wood used in the creation of our furniture will have natural markings, grain patterns and knots. The wood will also react to the environment, meaning that there may be small amounts of movement, including small gaps forming. These are not faults and are to be expected. Wooden surfaces will also be sensitive to heat or liquids, so mats or coasters should be used at all times. Our hand painted items are all unique and may have small imperfections.
Please see individual products for delivery timescales. For our non-bespoke items, we aim to ship them to you within 5-6 days (subject to availability). However, with our bespoke items, we will aim to ship them to you within 30 days following the order confirmation. We will keep you informed and updated at every step.
We have a Chalk and Cheese delivery team. They currently deliver our larger items within a 20 mile radius of Hemel Hempstead. The customer will be asked to check the item(s) for any damage before they are left. They will dispose of all packaging materials. Our customers in or outside of this area are welcome to collect their order in person, or pay the cost of a courier or independent delivery service. Chalk and Cheese will not be liable for damages that may occur during transit by the customer or independent courier/delivery service.
Our prices are shown in GBP and are stated inclusive of VAT but exclude delivery charges, which will be added to the price of the product.
During checkout, you will be required to pay the price for the product(s) you order.
By placing an order on our website, you confirm that the payment details you provide are valid and that the payment card you are using belongs to you, or you have been authorized by the owner of the card to use it.
All of our items are subject to availability, but we will keep you informed at every step. If an item is no longer available, you will be the first to know!
We offer a 28 day money back guarantee on our small, non-bespoke items should you change your mind. Initially, please contact us on email@example.com within 14 days of delivery. Item(s) must be returned unused and in their original packaging. Please note that you will be liable for the payment of return postage. Always obtain proof of posting, as refunds/replacements can only be offered once the item(s) has/have been received by us.
Cancellation of orders (non-bespoke)
Cancellations must be requested within 24 – 48 hours of the order being placed, as a refund will not be offered once the order has been processed.
Any item that is specifically made for you, will not be covered by Standard Consumer Contracts Regulations. These items are not covered by our 14 day returns policy.
The Data Protection Act of 1984
This act requires us to inform you, our customers, that your contact details are only recorded in order to process your orders within Chalk and Cheese. Your financial details are not recorded and your contact details will not be shared with, given or sold to third parties.
We reserve the right, without notice, to change, modify or remove information on our site as necessary.
